Convenient Travel High Chairs
These useful travel high chairs are invaluable when taking a trip with baby and make it possible to comfortably feed him anywhere!
These products are available in the US and the links will take you to Amazon.com –
Hook on Chair
This Travel Chair is a very versatile model that fits easily on to most tables, including thicker tables that other some other hook-ons won’t accommodate.
The part that clamps on to the table has non-slip, soft plastic ‘grips’, which protect your table from marks.
Although these seats are designed to be travel high chairs, we like them because you can clamp them to your dining table at home and make your baby really feel a ‘part of the family’ at dinner time. We find the bases on traditional highchairs sometimes prevent you from bringing your baby right up to the table.
The First Years On-The-Go Booster Seat
You can take these lightweight travel high chairs just about anywhere – and all you need to do is pull out a valve for them to self inflate and pop into shape! Deflation is just as simple once the meal is over. We think this is a great idea!
Chicco 360 Hook On Chair
This is a hook-on high chair with two big differences – it comes with a snap-on tray (a big bonus, in our opinion) and it can be locked into various positions besides facing the table. This means that baby can face you whilst you’re feeding him and – when he’s finished – you can even face him away from the table altogether and he’ll be entertained by watching the world go by!
My Little Seat Travel High Chair
Travel high chairs don’t come much more portable than this!
The My Little Seat folds up to an extremely small size and can easily be stowed in your diaper bag.
It slides over the back of most dining chairs and has four ties to keep it securely in place. It also has two harness straps for your wriggly baby!
The My Little Seat is not suitable for babies under 6 months, or for babies that cannot sit unassisted (then again, baby should be sitting unassisted anyway before he’s introduced to solids!). The seat comes in a variety of eye-catching patterns!
Snazzy Baby My Babys Own Deluxe Travel Chair
The Deluxe Travel Chair turns almost any regular chair into a highchair – just attach it and pop your baby in!
It’s a little more expensive than other fabric highchairs, but it does have a few extra features!
For one thing, it has a ‘no-slip’ base, which can be really handy on some chair surfaces. It also has buckle fasteners, instead of the more commonly used Velcro®. Whilst Velcro® may be quicker to use, the extra security offered by buckles may make this seat a better option for you if you’re the proud parent of a real wriggler!
Totseat Chair Harness: The Washable and Squashable Travel High Chair
Suitable from 6 to 30 months, the award-winning Totseat is great value for money.
It fits just about any chair and is fully adjustable – plus it’s specially designed to be used even before baby can sit without support . It comes with its own carry bag and is available in lots of different designs.
It also comes with a reassuring lifetime guarantee!
Fisher-Price Rainforest Healthy Care Booster Seat
A big thumbs-up for this one!
The Healthy Care Booster Seat is an excellent portable chair for travel and is suitable for babies from 6 months.
It has lots of nice features including a removable tray that you can clean in the dishwasher and adjustable straps and height, meaning that it fits virtually any table and chair. It also has a lid for the tray, which keeps it clean when you’re travelling, plus it folds pretty compactly, making it very portable.
But what we really like about this seat are its rounded contours, which make it a lot easier to clean than some seats, where the crumbs disappear down the cracks!
Travel High Chairs Available In The UK Only
Totseat The Washable Squashable Highchair (Choc Circles)
A Totseat travel high chair simply slips over a regular chair, transforming it into a safe place for your baby to eat.
Recommended for use from around 8 to 30 months, the Totseat clips firmly into place (so you know it’s safe) – plus it comes with its own little carry bag and is completely machine washable.
Fisher-Price Healthy Care Booster Seat
This booster seat is popular for use at home AND when travelling. It’s easy to fold and includes a fully detachable feeding tray. What’s more, the seat ‘grows’ with your baby, as it features 3 position height adjustment. The shoulder straps make it easy to carry on days out and about with your tot.
Summer Infant 2 Level Booster Seat
This may be an economical model, but it’s not short on features!
It folds to a compact size for portability and easily turns all standard chairs into high chairs.
The inner tray is removable and dishwasher safe and the seat is adjustable, with 2 height positions. Plus, of course, there’s a safety strap to keep your little one secure as he dines.
Winnie the Pooh Booster Seat
With its eye-catching design and three point harness, this easily portable booster seat is just perfect for feeding your older baby or toddler wherever you go. The surface is made of a practical vinyl that wipes clean quickly and easily.
Munchkin Travel Booster Seat
Is it a booster seat… is it a travel bag…?
This Munchkin travel booster seat is BOTH – with an inner pocket, it transforms easily from a feeding seat to a bag to keep all your feeding accessories. How convenient is THAT?
Safety 1st Easy Care Swing Tray Booster Seat
This travel high chair has a nice feature – a swing-away tray that you can release with one hand, making it easy to get your baby out of the seat.
It has three height adjustments, plus it’s lightweight and easy to fold up when you’re off on your travels.
KOO-DI Pack it Seat Harness (Black)
The concept of the Koo-Di Pack-It Seat Harness is similar to that of the Totseat, but it’s far cheaper!
The downside, however, is that the Koo-Di Pack-It does NOT fit such a wide variety of chair sizes as the Totseat – high back chairs being a particular problem.
So – whilst the Totseat may be more expensive – it may be the best choice if you’re not sure about the size and style of chairs you will be using it on.
