Tempting Baby Pasta Recipes

Looking for some tasty meal ideas for baby? Pasta is the perfect addition to your little one’s menu and these simple recipes use fresh, healthy ingredients to create wonderfully nutritious dishes.

Baby Pasta

The recipes shown here are ideal if your baby is aged 10 months or older – for younger babies visit baby pasta recipes 6-9 months.

By 10 months, your baby has probably started to chew – carefully chop the ingredients in these recipes to a size that your baby can cope with. Alternatively, you could use bags of baby pasta shapes instead of the types shown here.

If any of the foods listed in these recipes are new to your baby, then apply the four day rule as you introduce them. This will help you prevent or identify potential digestive problems and food allergies.


Minced Lamb And Pasta Dinner

8 oz (1 cup) minced lamb

1/2 onion, chopped

1 courgette/zucchini, chopped

6-8 fresh mushrooms, sliced

8 oz (1 cup) canned tomatoes in juice, chopped

2 tbsp tomato paste/puree

1/2 garlic clove, crushed

1/2 tsp dried mixed herbs

pinch freshly ground black pepper (optional)

4 oz (1 cup) pasta shapes

4 oz (1/2 cup) cream cheese

2 tbsp grated Cheddar

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 375 deg F, 190 deg C.
  2. Dry fry the mince in a large saucepan until browned.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the directions on the pack.
  4. Add the onion, garlic, zucchini and mushrooms to the meat and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Stir in the rest of the ingredients and bring to the boil.
  6. Place in an oven proof-dish.
  7. Drain the pasta, then stir in half of the grated Cheddar and the cream cheese.
  8. Place the pasta on top of the meat and sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.
  9. Bake for around 20 mins, until golden brown.

Creamy Salmon Pasta

Just 4 ingredients and ready in 15 minutes



Cheesy Beef

4 oz (1 cup) fettuccine

2 oz (1/4 cup) butter

1 onion, sliced thinly

8 oz (1 cup) sirloin steak

1 1/2 tbsp flour

pinch freshly ground black pepper (optional)

16 fl oz (2 cups) homemade beef stock

4 oz (1 cup) mozzarella cheese, grated

2 oz (1/2 cup) Parmesan cheese, grated

  1. In a large frying pan/skillet, melt the butter and saute the onion until browned. Remove and set aside.
  2. Cook the fettuccine according to the directions on the pack.
  3. Cut the steak into small cubes and place in the frying pan. Brown well.
  4. Return the onion to the pan.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the flour and black pepper.
  6. Add these to the frying pan and blend, stirring.
  7. Slowly add the beef stock, stirring well, and cook for 10 mins.
  8. Pour the meat and sauce over the pasta and top with the two cheeses.
  9. Place under the grill until the cheese has browned.
  10. Serve with fresh green beans.



Quick And Easy One Pot Beef Stew

4 oz (1 cup) medium pasta shells

8 oz (1 cup) lean beef, cubed

1/2 small onion, chopped

1 carrot, sliced

1/4 sweet red pepper, cut into thin strips

10 fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 tomato, chopped

4 fl oz (1/2 cup) homemade beef stock 

1 bay leaf

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

pinch freshly ground black pepper (optional)

4 oz (1/2 cup) frozen peas, thawed

  1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients except the black pepper, pasta and peas.
  2. Cover and simmer over a low heat for 1 – 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in the black pepper and pasta, then cook for a further 10 mins, stirring occasionally.
  4. Finally add the peas, return to the boil and stir well.



Ratatouille

4 oz (1 cup) elbow macaroni

1 garlic clove, crushed

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 red onion, chopped

1 small aubergine/eggplant, diced

1 small zucchini/courgette, diced

8 oz (1 cup) fresh tomatoes, diced

2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

1 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

pinch freshly ground black pepper

  1. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the pack, then drain.
  2. Heat the oil over a medium heat in a large frying pan/skillet.
  3. Add the garlic and onion and cook for 1 min.
  4. Add the eggplant and zucchini and saute until all the vegetables are tender (5-10 mins), stirring often.
  5. Remove from the frying pan and set aside.
  6. Add the tomatoes to the frying pan and heat over a high heat until reduced by about half.
  7. Add the basil and cook for 2 mins, then return the eggplant, zucchini and pasta to the pan and toss together.
  8. Top with the grated cheese.



Healthy Yogurt And Cottage Cheese Pasta

4 oz (1/2 cup) green noodles

8 oz (1 cup) plain yogurt

4 oz (1/2 cup) cottage cheese

4 tbsp scallions/spring onions/green onions, chopped

1/2 garlic clove, crushed

1 tbsp dill weed

2 tsp fresh oregano, chopped

1 tbsp butter

  1. Cook the noodles according to the directions on the pack. Drain and set aside.
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients (except for the butter) and puree in a food processor.
  3. Warm through.
  4. Stir the butter into the noodles, then toss the noodles with the yogurt sauce.
